Litchfield Mfg. Co., Litchfield, Conn.8 days, time and strike, movement iron front shelf clock with MOP, c1854
CONDITION:
Nice cast iron front with MOP inlaid case with original finish which has darkened with age. Original dial with paint loss at the mounting pins and at 3 o'clock. The hands are original. Both glasses are original with some restoration to the lower glass. Very nice label inside the case. Unlike most Litchfield movements which are balance wheel, this one has a rarely found anchor escapement. Plate shape is typical of all Litchfield movements. Ht 17.75".
